Femoral Components

Bencox® II Stem.

The Bencox femoral system from Corentec is a double-tapered, wedge stem, system designed to suit the anatomical structure in the marrow cavity. The section is rectangular-shaped, which helps to ensure strong initial press-fit fixation in the femoral marrow cavity. Designed with 12/14 specifications , the Corentec femoral system heads ensures compatibility with existing ball heads. Our femoral components offer a choice of stems, applying proven coating technology and patented neck design for a wide range of motion. In addition, they are compatible with either the Co-Cr head or our fourth generation delta ceramic head, which strengthens wear resistance and provides excellent biocompatibility.

Design Info

  • Optimal Fixation to Bone for Primary Surgery

    : Double tapered, wedge type.

    : Rectangular-shaped section.

: Corentec’s proven surface treatment technology.

    Surface Treatment Technology

1 : Micro Arc Oxidation (MAO)

To maximize bone ongrowth, the surface of the Bencox II Stem is treated with micro arc oxidation. MAO enhances porosity, maximizing the contact area. Also, MAO contains calcium and phosphate, the principalcomponents of bone.

2 : Grit-Blasting The Bencox II Stem has a proven grit-blasted surface finish (4-6μm) to promote bone in-growth.

    Rectangular-Shaped Section

  • Extensive Stress Distribution

Ti-Alloy Material and Double Tapered Design

: Low elastic modulus of ti-alloy reduces stiffness.

: The double tapered design and slim diaphyseal part of the stem help to avoid distal load transfer and aids in reducing proximal stress shielding.

  • 3 Vertical Ribs

    Surface Treatment Technology

: Three vertical ribs strengthen initially rotational stability.

: These structures increase proximal stability and surface contact rates , which can prevent stress shielding without contacting distal cortical bone.

  • Wide Range of Motion

    Patented Neck Design

: Innovative femoral ‘neck’ design minimizes possible prosthetic impingement when flexing and extending the hip joint.
